Tricks of the Trade: MEDITECH Magic 5.6 Report Scheduling Access

As an Applications Analyst, you will, no doubt, get many requests from users to create and run reports for them. Sometimes, these reports are a one-time inquiry, or for infrequent use only. Often times, however, users will want to run certain reports on a routine basis. In this case, it's time to use MEDITECH's MIS Report Scheduler to automate the process of running these reports.

To schedule a report in MEDITECH Magic, you print to SCHED. Printing to SCHED brings up the MIS Report Scheduler Enter/Edit Screen.

You need access to the Report Scheduler for your report’s application, if this error appears instead.

Resolve your user’s access issue, by following these steps below.

1. Sign on to the MEDITECH MIS application and select 10 for the User Menu.

2. Key 11 for the Enter/Edit User Dictionary.

3. Key 5 for Report Writer/Financial Data Access.

4. Enter ALL or a list of applications under Report Scheduler as best fits your user’s report scheduling needs.

5. Key F12 and File.

Next time your user attempts to schedule a report, the MIS Report Scheduling Enter/Edit Screen will appear as expected.
