About the Department:
Maine Medical Center is part of the MaineHealth Family. As part of Maine Medical Center's on-going initiative to meet organizational goals, an emphasis has been placed on the need to expand, restructure, and update our departments and systems. This position will be responsible for coordinating the MEDITECH upgrade to 5.6 for MaineHealth hospitals and the MaineHealth MEDITECH Data Center. The participating facilities have a blend of MAGIC and Client Server installations. The successful candidate will join a seasoned team of 9 project managers and a manager who make up our Project Management Office (PMO) in the IS Department. Key to the success of this upgrade will be an understanding of the uniqueness of each of the MEDITECH facilities involved. This will require spending time at each of the facilities to become familiar with the environment, both from a system and team perspective. Knowledge and understanding of MEDITECH clinical and financial modules and implementation experience are desirable.
Position Profile:
The Project Manager has primary responsibility for facilitating the planning, implementation and post implementation phases of various strategic projects for the department, Maine Medical Center, MaineHealth and/or at participating regional hospitals. The Project Manager will determine the appropriate qualitative and quantitative measures to evaluate progress and successful implementation. These projects will result in measurable improvements that will impact clinical, administrative, financial systems, and/or the infrastructural systems of MMC and that will benefit our patients, families and staff. The Project Manager will also provide regular progress reporting to his/her supervisor and other groups as appropriate. Project Manager will report to the Manager of the PMO who reports directly to the Associate Vice President of the IS Department. Essential functions include:

Leads hospital-wide or MaineHealth system-wide implementation of various projects,

Serves as the content/process expert for assigned project,

Works in collaboration with various departments, teams, committees to ensure successful project implementation,

Maintains data on various aspects of the project, may also generate reports and conduct analysis on data,

Seeks continual improvement of project management skills, and
-
Provides project management support to other initiatives as requested by supervisor.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field. Master's preferred. Information Systems may accept a combination of management and technical experience which is usually acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree program.

3-5 or more years project management experience that is multi-disciplinary in nature, with documented success. The position may also require the incumbent have proven work experience related to the specific area of focus.

3 years experience as a project manager in healthcare.

Prior experience with MEDITECH healthcare information system applications.

Ability to coordinate multiple sites, requiring travel to multiple MaineHealth facilities within the state.
