About the Organization:

Murray-Calloway County Public Hospital Corporation (MCCH) consists of an acute care facility with 152 licensed beds plus a long term care facility with 226 licensed beds.  The hospital is governed by an 11-member board and is a non-profit facility.   The hospital has recently expanded, opening a brand new facility in March 2009.  The hospital offers many services to the community including a Health and Wellness Center, Cancer Center, Sleep Center, Long Term Care, Home Health and Hospice services.  The medical staff consists of 75 physicians offering 26 medical specialties.  The hospital is a major employer in the area with over 1000 employees.

About the Location:

About the Department:

MCCH currently utilizes MEDITECH Client Server HCIS throughout the acute care facility and the Long Term Care facility.  We are currently operating on version 5.64 PP22, since July 2011.  Our facility went live with MEDITECH in October 2002 and we have since implemented most of the MEDITECH modules.  We have been LIVE with an EMR since 2002 and with BMV and Scanning and Archiving for over 18 months now.  Our IT staff is a very close-knit team consisting of 2 Clinical Specialists, 2 Financial Specialists, 2 Hardware Techs, 1 LSS Clinical Support Specialist, 1 Telecommunications Supervisor, 1 Systems Administrator, and a Director.

Position Profile:

The Clinical Support Specialist works with existing analysts and other members on the Information Systems Team.  This individual will support clinical modules which may include PHA, PCS, EMR, CPOE, and PWM.  The ideal candidate would be familiar with the electronic ordering process and electronic documentation within MEDITECH.  Will coordinate and maintain various clinical applications, databases, and dictionaries.  Test and validate updates for assigned applications.  Train new users, including physicians, on use of the system.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited LPN or RN Program -OR- 2-4 years exerience in Healthcare Information Technology, either in a hospital setting or physician clinic
• Must possess a Nursing background; RN or LPN preferred
• Must have prior application support experience in a healthcare setting as well as prior MEDITECH experience, preferably Client Server
